Schulkyl Banks Dog Park August 2012

Cool shower from the hose

The Schuykill Banks dog park at 25th and Spruce Streets in Philadelphia is under renovation and soon a new park will be built. The temporary park has a garden hose to keep the water bowls filled. The steamy afternoon was the perfect time to play with the hose and cool off.

This lucky dog’s owner knows he loves to drink from the hose, play in the water, get soaked to the skin then have a good shake.

It’s fun to run and play in the mud with the other dogs and then get soaking wet for the walk home. The dog park has mulch as a temporary base which is easier on the paws than gravel. The new park is said to have artificial turf to be installed. For now, sitting under the gazebo with the cooling river breeze and a good soak from the hose is a great way to beat the heat.
